William E. Brown, the founder and Chairman of BMS, holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Risk Management from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. In the 20 years prior to founding BMS, Bill gained an extensive claims and corporate risk management background, and has successfully incorporated these principles into the management and operational philosophy of BMS. In 1991, Bill's son, Chris, joined BMS and has been the President and CEO since 2000.

BMS remains one of the few independent, privately held TPAs in the Carolinas. Other TPAs are owned by banking institutions, PPO networks, or insurance companies. Our independence affords us the freedom to maintain low overhead expenses, provide unbiased consulting advice, and generate reasonable and consistent profit margins for our services.
